John Mauldin demonstrates an unusual breadth of expertise, as illustrated by the wide variety of issues addressed in-depth in his writings.

re: The Rise of A New Asset Class

Your timing still seems optimistic to me. When you make your forecasts, what are your assumptions on regulation and global trade?

It seems to me that the pendulum is swinging towards more regulation and more protectionism. And in addition to delevering the financial system, there appears to be renewed interest in delevering the government as well (higher taxes, raised social security cap, etc.)

This would suggest to me that subpar economic growth and elevated inflation could easily persist for another 5 years or more. Additionally, that time period would be consistent with the historic length of past commmodity bull markets.

OT: when you say "...and partner Tiffani" I get stuck trying to figure out if this is personal information (leave it alone) or biz information (how does his "partner" fit into what I'm reading). Do us a favour - leave the term "partner" outside. There's many better words :-)
